**Overview**:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Workplace Rehabilitation Advisor for our government client based in Sydney CBD for a 12-week contract. $54.09 p/h + Super.

**Primary purpose of the position**:
The Workplace Rehabilitation Advisor provides injury management, health and wellbeing, rehabilitation and return to work services to achieve optimal return to work outcomes for its employees in line with best practice principles and legislation.

**Key accountabilities/responsibilities**:

- Develop, implement, and monitor Recovery at Work plans to facilitate early and safe recovery and return to work for injured employees, in consideration of business operations.
- Provide early intervention injury management services to facilitate staff remaining at work or returning to work, inclusive of workplace assessments, task analysis, ergonomic assessments, case conferences, return to work meetings.
- Case manage a diverse portfolio of physical injury claims in line with legislative and self-insurance requirements to ensure early, safe and durable return to work.
- Identify options to reduce work demands and provide advice about modifying work, providing equipment or workplace modifications.
- Liaise with treatment providers to achieve safe and durable return to work outcomes.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external agencies to aid the recovery at work process and improve injury management outcomes.
- Maintain confidential, accurate and quality return to work files on the clients database in line with policy and procedures.
- Prepare for and participate in claims reviews with relevant business units and with the WHS Manager to improve workers compensation performance.
- Undertake health promotion and education activities and maintain the clients health and wellbeing program.
- Assist in work health and safety prevention programs as required.

**Essential knowledge and experience**:

- Tertiary qualifications and accreditation/registration in one of the following allied health fields Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy or Exercise Physiology.
- 2 years minimum experience in workplace rehabilitation and return to work management in a worker’s compensation environment.
- Current Return to Work Coordinator certificate or willingness to obtain one.
- Knowledge of Work Health & Safety and Workers Compensation legislation.
- Highly effective interpersonal communication and negotiation skills and the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels, in an appropriate, timely and professional manner.
- Ability to analyse trends, identify opportunities for improvement and recommend appropriate solutions.
