Located in Miranda, Pathways Miranda offers community-based support to people experiencing problematic alcohol and other drugs use across the Sutherland Shire.

Our service provides:

- Comprehensive assessment, individualised treatment/recovery plans and case management
- Holistic treatment service that focus on physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing, individualised 1-1 sessions, facilitated groups and living skills training
- Active referral to a range of primary health and community services

About the role

We are currently seeking a values-driven and proactive Dual Diagnosis Clinician to provide specialist dual-diagnosis assessment, treatment and referral for people with co-occurring alcohol and other drug and mental health problems in accordance within a participant-led, recovery-based framework.

Other key responsibilities include:

- Develop and monitor individual treatment plans and maintain case management documentation, records, reports and data collection, utilising established case planning procedures.
- Facilitate the delivery of therapeutic groups and brief intervention to clients as part of a holistic and harm minimisation treatment approach
- Assess and mitigate client and program risk in accordance with TSA policy and procedures.
- Demonstrate commitment to an environment that values continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of high-quality services.
- Provide Dual-Diagnosis expertise and support to the broader AOD Services team, as required.
- Acquire and maintain a good working knowledge of referral and support options for clients.

This is a fixed term fulltime position (continuation dependant on funding). Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Level 5

You will successfully
- Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline (Social work, psychology, mental health nursing etc.)
- Completed 4 AOD Skill Set Units (or willing to undertake/complete during employment).
- Current Drivers licence.
- Demonstrated ability to deal with unpredictable situations and behaviours utilising de-escalation techniques.
- Comply with The Salvation Army Organisational Code of Conduct which includes an alcohol, gambling and drug free workplace
- First aid certificate.
- Ability to critically reflect on professional practice and attitudes.
- Ability to develop and tailor programs to meet client’s needs.
- Seeks new ideas, embraces new opportunities and adapts to change.
- A current NSW Drivers Licence
- Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
