**About The Role**

The Early Childhood Educator (Diploma) is expected to be active and collaborative in their engagement, contributing to a dedicated team focused on delivering high quality early childhood education and care to the community. You will play a key role in the development and implementation of educational programs tailored to meet the diverse developmental, cultural, and additional needs of children in your care, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.

In this role you will actively communicate vital information to families regarding their children’s needs and developmental progress, offering specialized advice on specific areas of concern as requested or required by parents. Taking on the role of the Responsible Person within the service, you will assume responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the Centre when necessary.

This is a wonderful opportunity to join Georges River Council within our Community and Culture Directorate. We have a team who have been recognised for excellence in Environmental Programming and we are proud of our Reconciliation Action Plan which is developed in consultation with Aboriginal staff and community members.
- ** **Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent. (For the purposes of the Education and Care Services National Law, and published in accordance with regulation 137(1)(a) of the Education and Care Services National Regulations)
- Current First Aid Certificate, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management Certificates with at least 6 months until expiry
- Approved current Working with Children Check with at least 6 months until expiry
- NSW Department of Education and Communities approved Child Protection Training Certificate
- Ability to relate well to children, parents, staff, volunteers and the community
- Ability to work as a member of a team, and to provide role-modelling as appropriate
- Understanding of Work Health and Safety requirements
- The ability to develop, document and implement an educational program for children

**Desirable**
- Previous experience working with children 0-5 years of age, in a Childcare Centre setting
