**Position Information**:
Cambewarra Public School is located at the foothills of Cambewarra Mountain. The name comes from two Aboriginal words, 'cambe', meaning fire and 'warra', meaning a high place or mountain. School enrolments are approximately 240 with 10% from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background.

The school provides a caring supporting learning environment and has an outstanding reputation in the wider community. We have a strong connection with the local AECG and are committed to Aboriginal Policy into Action.

The school prides itself on strong genuine partnerships with families supporting the school's shared vision and school plan focus areas. The school enjoys a positive and active P&C, an out of school care morning and afternoon program for working families and a highly regarded Vacation Care program. We have a Defence Mentor program for the defence families.

The Assistant Principal will be contributing to a dynamic leadership team, leading a stage and driving Strategic Direction 3.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary

Demonstrated expertise in leading learning and/or wellbeing initiatives to positively impact on student outcomes

A demonstrated ability to lead strategic direction 3 including High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) and Creative and Performing Arts

Ability to lead and demonstrate explicit instruction in numeracy and literacy, including analysing data to improve student outcomes

Ability to work cohesively as part of an engaged and proactive leadership team, with the capacity to collaboratively design, implement and evaluate the school improvement plan

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies**Conditions**:
