Our National team are on the lookout for a **Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Coordinator** as we continue to grow the safety culture and focus within the business.

**About the Role**

The HSE Coordinator works alongside the HSE Manager to promote the safety and wellbeing of our team members and subcontractors who work across our construction sites, display homes and in our Springwood office. We approach Health and Safety in a way that prioritises wellbeing and ensures that every one of our employees feels safe at work.

We strongly believe that everyone has the right to go home safely to their family each night. The HSE team ensure that our safety policies and practices are well developed, effectively implemented and comply with the Work Health and Safety Act and other relevant policies, regulations, and legislation. Additionally, we hold ourselves to the international standard ISO 45001- an Occupational Health & Safety Management System that aims to provide a safe and healthy workplace for employees and visitors.

This role is ideal for someone starting out in their career who is passionate about building a safety culture and developing those around them to do the same. This is a highly collaborative position, working with teams all across the business to support and promote health and safety strategies and maintain our reputation and success in this space.

While every day might look a bit different, the HSE Coordinator:

- Communicates, collaborates, and coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to achieve safe places and systems of work for all employees and subcontractors.
- Supports the delivery and implementation of the Health, Safety and Environment management plan.
- Regularly and routinely monitors agreed site risks and hazards, working with team members to build understanding and minimise non-conformance.
- Ensures appropriate reporting and recording processes are adhered to.
- Maintains currency on legislative changes and industry safe work practices.
- Assists the HSE Manager with planning and carrying out compliance activities such as first aid, fire and emergency evacuations.

**About You**

You approach your work in a collaborative manner and have developed confident and strong communication skills that help you to promote safety within the business. You enjoy working with others to achieve common goals, along with the ability to work independently when required. You are motivated by the influence you have in helping others learn and understand safe and healthy work practices.

Ideally, you’ll have a Cert IV in Occupational Health and Safety and some exposure to the construction industry. You have a foundational understanding of safety risks and hazards and are familiar with compliance standards. You feel confident working with others in the business to address non-conformity, taking a team approach to improving safety and mitigating future risks. You can adapt your communication style to your audience to get the best outcome.
