About the role
The Lead oversees three employment program initiatives focused on improving employment outcomes for people from migrant and refugee backgrounds Western Australia. Supporting the programs’ field staff, the Lead initiates business development opportunities, plans strategically for program opportunities and growth, engages in advocacy related to migrants and employment, and delivers high-quality program data and reporting to provide evidence of impact.
The role will work closely with leadership teams, staff and volunteers to build capability and knowledge of Red Cross policy, practice, and strategy, promote and grow our work in the community, and build our reputation as a provider of best practice approaches to economic inclusion of migrants.
This role is part of a program currently funded until end of June 2025. If further funding is obtained, program roles may be extended.
About you
You will be an experienced Team Leader with demonstrated ability to lead moderately complex strategic projects, including implementing effective processes and meeting deadlines. You’ll also be an effective People Leader, facilitating team collaboration, innovation and human centred design for impact.
**You will also have**:
- Sound skills and experience in providing professional supervision and direction to staff
- Sound skills in providing trauma informed services to people from diverse cultural and language identities in support of their identified goal
- Proven experience in building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
- Strong business development, analytical, planning, financial management and reporting skills
- Ability to work across multiple functions and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including at senior level
- Ability to build strong relationships and deliver solutions, and to take ownership and identify solutions rather than waiting for others to take the lead
- Sound interpersonal skills with the aptitude to gain co-operation from stakeholders, including the ability to negotiate and liaise with government, non-government and corporate stakeholders
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and proficient computer skills (spreadsheets, databases)
- Sound knowledge of legislative, policy and practice requirements relevant to people made vulnerable because of migration
- Demonstrated cultural competence and the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
