About the role

Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) is embarking on a once in a lifetime generational change due to the investment in new infrastructure such as Melbourne Tunnel Project (MTP), resulting in a growing network and the opportunity to deliver year on year innovative transport solutions for the city of Melbourne.

We are seeking an experienced and highly driven leader to take on the Group Train Driver Manager role, to lead a strong culture across the Train Services division to ensure our drivers are well supported and provide a safe, world class service for our passengers.

In this role you will sit on the Train Servicers leadership team and drive cultural improvements across your portfolio. You will be responsible for ensuring safety remains our number one priority in everything we do, ensuring agreed targets are met through a dedicated focus on supporting our people, performance, identifying and actioning against our key business risks and driving exceptional outcomes through engaged and high performing teams.

This is an all-encompassing leadership role that will lead a sizeable team and comes with unique flexibility to innovate and influence the way you shape, nurture and contribute to MTM’S strategic vision and objectives.

About you

You will be a highly effective communicator with proven large-scale people leadership experience and a strong ability to motivate, mentor and coach a team within a dynamic operating environment or similar.

In addition, you will possess:

- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead people through transformational change
- Proven communication, facilitation, presentation and diplomacy skills
- Sound business acumen displaying cause and effect thinking and a personal investment in, and commitment to, leading and creating a high functioning, cohesive team
- Energetic, self-motivated leader with experience in developing and implementing cross-divisional strategies
- Demonstrated experience in administration of key business functions including safety management, financial management, and operations management
- Experience in working within industrialised workplace environments
