**Selection Criteria**:
SC1 Demonstrated ability to undertake a range of maintenance duties appropriate to a Secondary School environment including some trade experience relevant to the role.

**Role**:
Hours of work are 7:30 am - 3:30 pm

**Grounds & Maintenance**: Maintain School grounds and ovals including gardening, mowing, weeding, fertilising and spraying.Coordinate works and repair school facilities (including grounds and maintenance) in a timely and accurate manner.

Undertake, prioritise and complete minor repairs, maintenance and grounds work as per the school's facilities and maintenance request ticketing system.Identify and report on maintenance needs for school buildings and grounds.

Operate machinery such as ride-on mower, whipper snipper, hedge trimmer, chainsaw etc.Maintain accurate and up-to-date data of grounds and maintenance, and work with relevant documentation from Authorities Brimbank City Council.

Repair and installation of irrigation lines and coordination of watering schedules. Keep accurate data entry in school's maintenance system (AIMS) including monitoring and actioning scheduled works, and adding new work items to liaise with Business Manager.

Assist with School events such as assemblies, celebration day and concert set up including Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) & Risk Assessments.

Assist with the implementation and completion of building improvement projects across the school including participating in planning and acquittal meetings between the Facilities team, Business Manager & Principal and any other key stakeholders for all maintenance projects over $1,000.

Work within the Facilities and Grounds budget. In consultation with the Business Manager, develop a work schedule for each term holiday.

Assist with the security of equipment and buildings.

Liaise with the Principal, Business Manager and contractors regarding any emergency maintenance issues.

**Workplace Safety**: Ensure a safe working environment in the workshop areas and equipment is maintained in a clean, safe and orderly condition.

Undertake scheduled safety compliance and workplace inspections including playgrounds, sports equipment, shade sails.

**General**: Current Drivers LCurrent Working with Children Experience working in a similar role or setting is highly desirable.

Undertake general duties as directed by the Principal or Business Manager within the requirements of ES1-4 dimensions of work as listed in the Victorian Government Schools Agreement 2022.

**Education & Experience**: Current Drivers License. Current Working with Children Check. Experience working in a similar role or setting is highly desirable.

**Responsibilities**:
The Buildings, Grounds and Facilities Manager will take responsibility for maintaining the good order of the school facilities, ensuring that the physical environment of the school, its buildings, grounds and resources are maintained in an excellent condition including the prompt identification and rectification of OH&S hazards and cleaning issues

**DUTIES INCLUDE**:
**Buildings**:

- Ensure all facilities and grounds are maintained to ensure excellence in security, safety, presentation, and function including conducting termly formal inspections.
- Maintain a schedule, with a timeline, for managing all maintenance requests in consultation with the Business Manager or Principal.
- Take a 'hands on role in performing daily maintenance tasks which include: repair of furniture, equipment and fittings, replacing light globes, removal of graffiti, plastering, painting and emergency maintenance
- Cleaning as required including daily pick up of litter in the yard
- Manage relevant IT systems including AIMS capturing all Preventative and Reactive work orders
- Liaise with and coordinating the necessary tradespeople to achieve set tasks within the required timeframes, ensuring the least disruption to the school
- Identify occupational health and safety risks and hazards, and taking action to rectify
- Renovate facilities including joinery as per skill set
- Be familiar with the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and hydraulic systems. Arrange for servicing of these systems and maintain operational and service manuals.
