**About the Opportunity**

As part of the Regulatory Services Program the Building Surveyor will be responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of Council’s building assessment functions and provide specialist building code advice relating to proposed developments that may be submitted for assessment as part of the development approval process.

You will deliver an efficient and highly customer focused experience to support the community and construction industry stakeholders for developments in the City.

**About You**

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Comprehensive understanding of the Building Rules as defined in the Planning, Development & Infrastructure Act 2016.
- Extensive knowledge of the Planning, Development & Infrastructure Act 2016 & Regulations 2017 and other relevant and related legislation.
- Experience in Government development assessment processes
- Experience and ability to understand and interpret complex legislation, drawings, plans and technical specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to understand broad commercial realities.
- An unencumbered driver's license.
