**Position**:Staff Specialist in Cardiology
**John Hunter & Belmont Hospitals, Newcastle NSW**
**Permanent part time 0.5 FTE (20 hours per week)**

**_ Applications are invited from suitably qualified consultants for the position of Staff Specialist in Cardiology with John Hunter Hospital._**
John Hunter Hospital is the largest hospital in Hunter New England Local Health District with approximately 650 beds. A Level 6, tertiary referral, major trauma and teaching hospital we service a population of 800,000+. We have strong connections with Hunter Medical Research Institute and University of Newcastle.

**_ About you:_**
- A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Cardiology with a focus on non-invasive cardiology skills.
- Recent comprehensive experience and interest in non-invasive cardiology with an interest in heart failure, genetics or hypertrophic cardiomyopathy desirable**.**

**About the role**:

- Providing on call and in-patient cardiology services (including after hours) to John Hunter and Belmont Hospitals according to departmental rostering and mandatory contribution to the co-ordination of the Heart Team meeting.
- Providing outpatient services include general cardiology outpatient clinics across both campuses, as well as provision of non-invasive diagnostic cardiology
