FD Food Services began life in 1943 amid the noise and chaos of the Melbourne Fish Markets. **The Role**

Manage the day-to-day operational functions within the QA area. To deliver the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set by the business for the operation.

**The Responsibilities**
- To ensure the Quality Assurance Systems are fully implemented on site
- To ensure that the business operates within applicable legislative requirements such as safety, quality, environment, security and insurance
- To lead, manage and develop the culture and employee resources of the site with respect to quality consistent with corporate policies, procedures and values including staff induction and ongoing training
- To develop and administer the internal auditing program for food safety and quality
- To liaise with external auditors prior to, during and after any external audits
- To ensure that agreed company policies and business processes are in place and adhered to including microbiological sampling and testing of ingredients, products and environments
- In conjunction with site management, implement an effective HACCP plan and update the Quality procedures and processes in line with corporate policies and procedures

**Skills, Qualifications and Experience**
- Food Technology and or Science Qualification (desirable)
- Experience in Quality Assurance roles (especially high care)
- Sound knowledge of legislative requirements for safety (including Work Cover requirements), quality, environment, security and insurance
- Sound knowledge of HACCP principles
- An appreciation of consumer protection legal requirements especially as they relate to perishable food products and associated regulatory arrangements in the food industry
- A working knowledge of continuous improvement methods and processes
- Strong leadership skills with the capacity to positively influence people and to initiate and deliver change independently or through teamwork
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation and negotiation skills
- Able to be self-managed in a fast paced environment
