**The Role**

We’re seeking to engage an innovative **Principal Business Partner** to join our People & Culture Team. In this role, you’ll be primarily responsible for partnering with Business Unit Director and Managers to project manage People & Culture (P&C) solutions in line with business needs with a significant focus on achieving business outcomes such as sustained revenue growth; profit growth and operational efficiency and culture of flexibility/adaptability through tailored P&C solutions that are aligned with Group and Divisional level priorities.

Managing a team of Advisors, Senior Advisors & Coordinators within your portfolio, you’ll lead the way by using your highly developed Consulting and Stakeholder Management capabilities to support your stakeholders across all P&C specialty areas including culture, talent management, compensation, benefits, governance, diversity, employee/industrial relations, organisational & resource planning, organisational change management and/or other services.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Leading and implementing P&C strategies aligned with business strategy for assigned portfolio;
- Supporting the Business Unit Director, Market Director and Line Management Team in the project management, implementation development and achievement of the P&C strategy that is aligned with the business goals;
- Developing strategies in conjunction with the Market Directors to ensure optimal performance;
- Leading the translation of Business Unit business plans into P&C strategies and actions;
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and influencers across the business;
- Visiting other offices within remit, including project offices on a regular basis;
- Seeking to understand the business and its priorities and translate this understanding to P&C solutions;
- Providing advice and guidance in relation to P&C policies, procedures and programs such as onboarding, remuneration, reward, benefits and learning;
- Facilitating P&C programs such as onboarding, performance appraisal processes, employee survey action planning, talent and succession planning reviews and other cyclical activities;
- Working with managers and employees to educate and develop skills regarding P&C policies, processes and procedures;
- Facilitating horizontal and vertical networks for better business performance;
- Participating in project planning meetings and works with the Project Manager to produce the agreed project deliverables;
- Managing direct reports to be supported as competent, capable and experienced employees;
- Ensuring appropriate recruitment, retention and development of direct reports;
- Implementing on-the-job mentoring, learning and development opportunities within the allocated budget;
- Undertaking regular people management activities such as the annual Performance Appraisal, Probation Reviews and Performance Improvement Plans, in a timely manner;
- Forecasting workloads and ensure necessary resources to meet company and project deliverables.

**About You**

**Suitable applicants will be/have**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Human Resources, Psychology
- Minimum 8 years’ experience, ideally in a generalist P&C role within the professional services / Engineering / Construction industries;
- Relevant experience in establishing internal client networks with proven ability to develop and maintain trust;
- Well-developed relationship management and consulting skills to personally influence at all levels;
- In-depth knowledge of P&C organizational policies, practices and generalist P&C best practice;
- Excellent communication skills and highly service orientated;
- Ability to work autonomously and to exercise initiative and discretion;
- Co-operative and flexible work style to work in a team environment.
