**Job description**:

As the Data Analyst, your core responsibilities will be data analysis, data assurance, compensation payment calculations, developing extracts from core administration systems and creating core SQL scripts, as well as documenting processes.

**You will also**:

- Create tools and techniques to optimise program processes
- Perform SQL script writing and SQL script review in support of program processes
- Obtain, validatre and analyse data
- Suggest process improvements and optimisations
- Understand Indices, fundamentals and analytical data, returns level data etc.
- Provide data analysis - must have proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Undertake daily, fortnightly scrum ceremonies for the project
- Deliver business processes, rules and requirements
- Deliver quality reconciled data sets within project timeframes
- Adhere to all compliance and learning requirements
- End-to-end remediation of complex incidents, which includes:

- Data analysis, looking at customer and transactional data - to understand what has gone wrong and how to fix it
- A lot of process work, understand what went wrong and fix the process to stop the issues from happening again
- Liaise with multiple business areas, external organisations, and stakeholders at all levels to achieve the above outcomes.

**To secure this permanent role the following skills/experience is needed**:

- Demonstrated experience in data analysis with SQL within project delivery environment
- Experience in dealing with senior business leaders and excellent stakeholder management skills
- Experience working in large financial services organisations and/or in a Superannuation/investments/financial planning business would be highly regarded
- Prior experience in client identification for a large-scale remediation program.
- SQL certification
- Strong data analysis skills, with proven experience working on complex data environment and large data sets, as well as capability of using database queries to extract and draw conclusions from data sets.
- Experience conducting root-cause analysis, understand what went wrong and assist in identifying the fix in the underlying process to minimise the likelihood of the issues from happening again
- Demonstrable training / experience cleansing and blending data from different data sources to perform analysis using SQL
- Proven experience to 'cut' the data, as opposed to building Databases/Data Architecture.
- Ability to document the technical rules they have used for these processes.
- Experienced at interrogating taking large volumes of data received from a multitude of sources and received in varying file formats e.g. text files, Excel spreadsheets and uploading it into sandbox environment such as Oracle and set it up into a useable format.
- Ability to manipulate and query the data, based on specific requirements provided to extract the relevant data and provide a data cut.
- An advanced Data analytics background
- Understanding of Indices, fundamentals
