**Role Description/Criteria**

The role of Leader of Religious Education is a key leadership position within the school. This role requires a deep commitment to the Catholic faith and a strong desire to promote a growth to wholeness, a love of learning and an unconditional respect for self, others and the world. The Leader of Religious Education will ensure inclusivity in planning learning events to promote the safety and wellbeing of all children and families in our community.

This is an ongoing teaching position with the Leader of Religious Education tenure commencing in Term 1 2024. There is a potential POL allowance for this position.

This position is integral to the faith development of our students in our school and the leader will be responsible for enacting our school vision and philosophy. Working with the leadership team, this leader will contribute to the collaborative decision-making process of our school. This leader will be an excellent role model for other educators through supporting and monitoring of learning, growth of effective educators and setting of high standards for students and staff performance.

The successful applicant will:
have a strong commitment to the ethos of a Catholic school

be able to integrate faith and life within the curriculum

be able to support teachers in delivering purposeful learning experiences that are differentiated to accommodate a range of abilities and learning

have a sound knowledge and understanding of current thinking and research into curriculum, pedagogy and the Victorian Curriculum

possess excellent communication, interpersonal skills and dispositions

effectively use data to inform the teaching and learning of students

be accredited to teacher Religious Education

Hold current VIT registration

Have a strong commitment to the ethos of the Catholic school
