The Deputy Accommodations & Services Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the Accommodations & Services Coordinator in overseeing the effective implementation of accommodation and support services under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). This role requires a high level of organisational skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to promoting the independence and well-being of individuals with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

- **Support Coordination**: Assist in coordinating and managing support services for individuals with disabilities covered under the NDIS. This includes ensuring that services are delivered in accordance with participants' individual plans and NDIS guidelines.
- **Team Management**: Provide leadership and guidance to support staff, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities within the organization. Collaborate with the Accommodations & Services Coordinator to oversee staff scheduling, training, and performance management.
- **Participant Advocacy**: Advocate for the rights and needs of participants with disabilities, ensuring they have access to appropriate services and supports. Work closely with participants, their families, and relevant stakeholders to address any concerns or challenges they may face.
- **Quality Assurance**: Assist in monitoring the quality and effectiveness of accommodation and support services, implementing measures to continuously improve service delivery. Conduct regular audits and evaluations to ensure compliance with NDIS standards and regulations.
- **Budget Management**: Support the Accommodations & Services Coordinator in managing the budget for accommodation and support services. Monitor expenditure, identify cost-saving opportunities, and assist in preparing financial reports as required.
- **Documentation and Reporting**: Maintain accurate records of participant information, service delivery, and outcomes. Prepare reports and documentation for internal purposes as well as for submission to NDIS and other relevant authorities.
- **Collaboration**: Collaborate with other departments within the organization, as well as external service providers and community organizations, to ensure holistic support for participants with disabilities. Foster positive working relationships and effective communication channels.
- **Compliance**: Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and policies governing disability services, including but not limited to the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework. Stay updated on changes in legislation and proactively implement any necessary adjustments.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as social work, disability studies, psychology, or human services. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience working in the disability sector, preferably within the context of the NDIS.
- Strong understanding of disability rights, person-centered approaches, and best practices in disability support.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
- Knowledge of budget management principles and financial reporting.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and build positive relationships.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and promoting the rights and dignity of individuals with disabilities.
