**THE POSITION**
Hospitality attendants are responsible for preparing and providing food & beverage services and general cleaning and maintenance of classrooms, laboratories, kitchens, offices, toilets, locker areas, libraries and other areas in a clean and tidy condition at both the colleges. As part of a team, Attendants are also required to carry out a full spring clean on a bi-annual basis. Attendants report directly to the Hospitality Manager for all task direction, problem-solving and co-ordination. Attendants are responsible in the first instance to the Hospitality Manager and ultimately to the Chief Operating Officer.
All staff need to be supportive of the values, Christian ethos and Ethical Statement of this Uniting Church Day school from EY-12.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
**_Daily
- F&B_**
- Provide basic Food & Beverage services for all events, tuckshop and Cafe.
- Basic Barista skills
- Not necessary
- Using POS system & processing the payments.
- Restocking
- Meal Preparation.
- Following safe food handling procedures.
- Cleaning meal prep areas/ service area/ kitchens.
- Set up and pack down of all events/requests.
- Maintaining and checking stock.
- Maintain a good relationship with internal and external clients.
**_Daily
- Housekeeping_**
**_Classrooms, offices and general areas_**
- All internal and verandah rubbish bins are to be emptied and rubbish removed to the nearest collection point (wheelie bin).
- Bin liners replaced as required in rubbish bins.
- Clean and damp-wipe drinking fountains.
- Thoroughly dust all horizontal surfaces, including desktops, files, windowsills, chairs, tables, pictures and all furnishings.
- Damp-wipe all horizontal surfaces to remove coffee rings and spillage as required.
- Sweep and vacuum hard surface floors.
- Damp-mop hard surface floors to remove any spillages from soiled areas.
- Damp-wipe entrance metal and fingerprints on entrance glass, as required.
- Spot clean partition glass.
- Remove cobwebs from entry area and around surrounding areas.
- Remove fingerprints and marks from around all light switches and doorframes as required.
- Clean and wipe down whiteboards and framework.
- Polish all hard/vinyl floor areas as directed by Manager (Housekeeping) (use spray and buff restorer).
- Clean all stainless-steel sinks and polish all chrome fittings (laboratory areas only).
- Sweep down paved areas and stairways.
- Ensure all windows are closed, doors locked, lights and fans are turned off at the end of the day (after 3.30 pm).
**_Toilets and change rooms (male and female)_**
- Ensure sufficient stock of towels, toilet paper and hand soap.
- Empty rubbish bins and wipe as required.
- Replace bin liners in all rubbish bins.
- Clean and polish mirrors.
- Toilets and urinals to be cleaned and sanitised/disinfected inside and outside.
- Toilet seats to be cleaned on both sides and disinfected/sanitised and wiped dry.
- Clean and sanitise all basins.
- Polish all chrome fittings.
- Dust partitions, top of mirrors and frames.
- Remove splash marks from walls around basins.
- Sweep, mop and rinse restroom floors with a disinfectant/sanitiser.
- Look for cobwebs and remove as required.
**_Other_**
- Clean up after one-off incidents which generate the need. This may include student vomiting, decomposed food, breakages etc.
- **Laboratories** - Cleaners are not required to handle and dispose of sharps such as broken glassware. These are in separate labelled bins and managed by laboratory staff.
- **Health Centre** - Cleaners are not to handle or dispose of pathological waste (eg. tissues soiled with body fluid). Such material is in a separate bin and managed by the College Nurse.
**Weekly**
- Vacuum all classrooms and other areas.
- Clean telephones, disinfect/sanitise all handsets.
- Hose down paved areas and stairways.
**Bi-annual**
- Clean fans and lights.
- Window cleaning (internal/external).
**WORKPLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY**
- The Moreton Bay Colleges are committed to ensuring the health and safety of all students and staff. To this end, cleaning staff need to comply with the following conditions:
- Gloves are to be always used when cleaning toilet areas or cleaning up any body fluid. Gloves must then be rinsed and hung to dry in designated area of a Cleaner’s room.
- Cleaning equipment used in toilet area is to be used **ONLY** in the toilets. This equipment must not be used in any other area of the College.
- The MBC Health Centre cleaning equipment must remain in that area and no other equipment used.
- Cleaning staff must properly wash their hands when finished cleaning the toilet area and before moving to clean other areas, and when finishing work.
- Clothing
- Fully enclosed shoes must be always worn (sandshoes/joggers are suitable).
