**Position Information**:
St Clair High School is a comprehensive secondary school located in Sydney's western suburbs. It has an Inclusive Education Unit which has 5 multi-category classes. The student population of 748 is now beginning to see a steady increase. The St Clair High School community is culturally and linguistically diverse. Whilst 38% of students have a non-English speaking background, 10% require some level of English as an additional language or dialect support. 9% of students identify as having an Aboriginal background.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria,

Proven capacity to be a highly visible, collaborative, and consultative leader with a solutions-focused approach to developing a positive culture where both staff and students are challenged and supported to create continuous improvement across academic and wellbeing practices.

Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated capacity to develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with students, staff and the community that supports a culture of high expectations.

Demonstrated capacity and experience in whole school planning, data evaluation and progress monitoring to lead and support school teams towards innovation and improvement.

Proven ability in the consistent management of complex behavioural and welfare needs of students through targeted and early interventions by effectively engaging and collaborating with both school based and non-school based personnel

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
