**Position Description**

GTO Service Market Logistics (SML) APAC is a part of Group Trucks Operations (GTO) being globally active in more than 40 locations delivering world-class operational excellence for our customers, based on smart logistics solutions we have. Our job is to develop, manage and optimize the Service Market supply chain for all Volvo Group brands.
SML APAC Region operates from six sites in the following countries: Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Singapore, S. Korea, with Regional Head Quarters in Singapore. We are a team of approx. 300+ engaged colleagues are doing our most every day to support our customers, colleagues, and partners. This position is responsible for coaching, training, and partnering with the GTO Service Market Logistics Business to drive a safe, caring, and a learning organization. This role demands and maintains cross-functional relationships to engage and drive the organization’s Safety, Health, Environment, well-being & People Development initiatives.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is highly people-centric, proactive in nature and enjoys working cross-functionally in a global organization. You, as a leader, will be an influencer with a growth mindset, adaptable to change, and able to keep up in a fast-paced environment.

**THE MISSION**
The key focus of this role is it to bring people at first mindset by having high engagement level with leaders, employees, and all relevant stakeholders in the areas of safety, health, environment, well-being and people development of the organization.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

Safety, Health & Wellbeing
- Develop an active Safety, Health & wellbeing Plan for the Distribution Center Sydney in close collaboration with leaders, and further support the team to improve safety performance and compliances in continuous basis
- Ensure a culture of safe work environment for all people by having competence development approach and securing an active care mindset
- Secure the process of reporting of safety standards i.e., Serious Incident Fatality (SIF), Lost Time Accident Rate (LTAR), Environmental KPI’s, Health concerns etc.
- Be active in Gemba and raise concerns to address any health & safety hazards, including near misses
- Promote wellbeing and health in the Organization by supporting positive work/life choices, having an awareness of mental health and other health issues, and understanding support networks
- Actively work with implementing and maintaining the Volvo Group Safety (and environment) directives
- Assist in driving VPS Focus areas (Safety and Environment) by bringing lean mindset to follow the 7-step systematic approach

Culture & People Development
- Uphold the Volvo Groups Values and Leadership Principles as foundation of work environment by coaching managers and training our people as per training needs
- Promote equal opportunity, diversity, and inclusiveness to discover new ideas and continuous improvement in day-to-day work life
- Promote and encourage work-life integration by coaching our managers and employees, for one to find right motivation and engaging work arrangements
- Be the change agent and actively participate in relevant global, regional, and local networks to have continuous learning journey in the company
- Be the employee engagement ambassador to foster the human-centric approach by actively listening to people’s and organizational problems and bringing proactive people development solutions
- Champion the People Development area within Volvo Production System and setting the appropriate training & development approach to upskill & reskill our employees

Risk Management and Compliance
- Contribute to strategic risk management and compliance activities, including legislative requirements, ongoing risk identification and mitigation
- Oversee compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and codes of practise to encourage safe working practices and safe behaviour at work
- Manage the return-to-work process including the preparation and distribution of suitable duties for work and non-work-related injuries
- Coordinate the sites’ Safety Committees and Emergency Control Organizations including the training of representatives
- Coordinate wellbeing initiatives i.e., flu vaccinations, mental health awareness, etc.
- Assist in undertaking compliance reviews, risk assessments and other safety activities to support Safety and Environmental management in accordance with HSE legislation, ISO certification and Volvo Group values
