Avalon, a brand-new modern Mediterranean restaurant in the heart of Claremont, is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled **Bar Manager** to lead our bartending team. This pivotal role requires someone with exceptional skills in crafting creative, high-quality cocktails while maintaining operational excellence behind the bar.

**Role Overview**

As the Bar Manager, you’ll play a vital role in our bar, leading the team and contributing to the success of our beverage offering. This full-time role requires 40 hours per week and will be a mix of afternoon and evening shifts 4-5 days per week.

**Key Responsibilities**
- **Bar Leadership**: Oversee all aspects of the bar operation, excluding wines, ensuring smooth and efficient service that complements our restaurant’s premium dining experience.
- **Cocktail Expertise**: Develop and execute an innovative cocktail menu that reflects the Mediterranean spirit and seasonal ingredients, delighting our clientele.
- **Team Management**: Lead, train, and mentor the bar team to uphold exceptional service standards and foster a collaborative work environment.
- **Stock Control & Ordering**: Manage bar inventory, ensuring accurate stock control, timely ordering, and cost efficiency.
- **Scheduling & Rostering**: Create and manage bartender schedules to meet the demands of service.
- **Compliance & Cleanliness**: Ensure all bar operations meet health and safety standards, maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming workspace.

**What We’re Looking For**
- Proven experience as a cocktail bartender in a high-end or fine-dining setting.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a team and multiple priorities.
- Excellent knowledge of spirits, cocktail techniques, and bar management best practices.
- Attention to detail, with a focus on maintaining high standards of service and presentation.
- A collaborative attitude, with a commitment to teamwork and supporting the overall success of the restaurant.
