**About the Role**

Western Health has in excess of 60 Hospital Medical Officer (PGY3+) positions in our General Training Stream suitable for applicants who have had at least two years of medical experience.

Western Health offers a supported training environment where Senior Medical Staff make an effort to know you personally. Junior doctors in the General Training Stream are supported by a dedicated Director of Clinical Training and Medical Education Officer.

Western Health offers a variety of rotations within the HMO3 General Training Stream, these include:

- Aged Care / GEM / Subacute
- Anaesthetics
- Cardiology
- Clinical Informatics / Digital Health
- Emergency Medicine (Adult)
- Emergency Medicine (Paediatrics)
- Gastroenterology
- Intensive Care
- Nephrology
- Obstetrics and Gynaecology
- Oncology
- Paediatric Medicine
- Palliative Care
- Psychiatry

Every effort will be made to provide rotations of your choice - taking into consideration your career interests, training requirements, previous experience and demands of particular rotations. However this is not a guarantee as this is dependent on the group of successful applicants and final rotation preferences. All HMOs will be assigned a combined annual leave/nights/relieving term during the year.

We have a strong focus on junior doctor education with a dedicated weekly intern and HMO education program, simulation and workshops for junior doctors, hospital grand rounds and a broad range of unit-specific education sessions. The Western Centre for Health Research and Education (WCHRE) at the Sunshine Hospital campus is a purpose built teaching and research facility, including a state-of-the-art simulation centre.

**To be Successful in this Role you will**:

- Hold or be eligible for medical registration with AHPRA
- Have completed a minimum of 2 years full time medical employment post Primary Medical Degree (MBBS), and
- Meet AHPRA's recency of practice requirements for medical registration.
