The Parenting Orders Program supports families experiencing separation to strengthen the co-parenting relationship, reduce conflict, improve communication and focus on the needs of children.

Service delivery in this program includes individual support, counselling, psychoeducation and group programs for families experiencing separation.

This position aims to support separated parents to focus together on the best interest of their children, resolve disputes, improve communication and re-establish contact between parents and children.

Specifically, the position is responsible for:

- Counselling support to parents and their children within the context of family separation
- Conducting comprehensive psychosocial assessments of individual parents, caregivers and children and young people where appropriate including screening of risk issues such as family violence
- Developing and maintaining a broad understanding of the Family Law Act (1975) whilst supporting parents and care givers to meet obligations of Family Law court orders when referred to the program

**To be considered for this position, applicants require**:

- Degree in Psychology, Counselling or Social Work (or related discipline)
- Post graduate studies in couple therapy or family therapy highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience in working with children, young people and their families in the context of family separation.
- As a condition of employment, CatholicCare Victoria as an employer will collect, record and store vaccination information on employees where required in line with the Privacy Act. All CatholicCare Victoria workers are to be fully vaccinated (boosted), unless they are an Excepted Person for medical reasons. All applicants must therefore be able to comply with this requirement.
