The role offered is to join a highly productive farming business in the Northern Midlands of Tasmania. You will be responsible for the strategic planning, management, day-to-day coordination, and implementation of an intensive cropping program, including (but not limited to) sowing, spraying, harvest, machinery maintenance, and haymaking. This property spans 19,000 ha and revolves around broadacre grains, oils, and poppies with irrigation incorporating fodder planting Lucernes, Brassicas, and Sorghum, covering approximately 1,000 ha of dryland cropping and 1,000 ha under permanently fixed pivot irrigation. The property runs a blend of closely aligned livestock and cropping enterprises, including fine wool, prime lamb, and Angus beef production. Rainfall ranges from 500mm north of the property to 950mm at the southern end of the property (highland). Variable soil types range from deep, free-draining sands to self-mulching soil.
