Hseq Advisor

Powertech is an Electrical Engineering Services Provider delivering HV/LV & E&I testing, commissioning, operations and maintenance and engineering services to our clients in the Mining, Oil & Gas, Utilities, Renewable Energy and Defence sectors across Australia and SE Asia.

**Description**:
Our Murarrie location have an exciting permanent full-time opportunity for a HSEQ Advisor to join our Brisbane team.

Reporting to the Director of Operations - Eastern Region you will be responsible for carrying out a range of duties including but not limited to:
**The Role**:

- Work as an integral part of the team to ensure Powertech HSEQ policies, procedures and obligations have been effectively communicated at all business levels.
- Influence a positive attitude and commitment towards safety across the business.
- Assist the HSEQ Manager in reviewing and developing the HSEQ management system to promote and protect the wellbeing of personnel.
- Develop HSEQ policies and procedures that are clear and simple to understand, ensuring broad acceptance by personnel at all levels.
- Provide ongoing advice and support to line management on HSEQ legislative requirements, risk management, HSEQ issues, and reflect Powertech policies and procedures.
- Support employees with HSEQ advice and guidance to reflect company policies and procedures.
- Lead and/or assist management with incident investigations and develop corrective actions.
- Conduct workplace audits and inspections, as well as site hazard and risk inspections.
- Coordinate the implementation of preventative measures and/or close out of corrective actions.
- Assist Tender Team with HSEQ Responses under the direction of the HSEQ Manager
- Other Tasks as assigned by the General Manager and HSEQ Manager

**Skills and Experiences**:
**The Person**:

- Recognised tertiary qualifications in HSE with a minimum 3 years’ experience.
- Internal audit qualifications and experience in delivering formal HSEQ audits (desired).
- C-Class driver’s licence, with the ability to travel to site (interstate) and support field crews (approx. 20%).
- Ability to be pro-active and effectively communicate to all levels of management.
