**About the role**

At the heart of creating magical, engaging, and fun play experiences for children. This role is central to our vision of making learning through play exciting, imaginative, and vibrant. In collaboration with the Education Coordinator, the Playworker is instrumental in transforming the curriculum into a playground of joy, fostering an environment where children's laughter and learning go hand-in-hand. Your creativity and passion for play will inspire children to explore, discover, and grow in an atmosphere brimming with fun and engagement.

Facilitating Interactive Play Sessions:

- Actively engaging with children during playtime, encouraging participation, creativity, and peer interaction.
- Creating and organising hands-on learning experiences, like arts and crafts, science experiments, and story-telling sessions that reflect and reinforce curriculum topics.

Integrating Educational Concepts:

- Incorporating basic educational themes and concepts into play activities, aligning with broader curriculum goals set by the educational team.
- Designing themed play areas or stations that reflect different curriculum areas, such as a 'math market' for counting and currency practice, or a 'nature nook' for exploring environmental science.

Adapting Activities to Individual Needs:

- Modifying play activities to meet the diverse needs and interests of children, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for all participants.
- Providing sensory play activities for sensory development and motor skill activities, like obstacle courses or tactile boards, tailored to different children's abilities and developmental stages.

Continuous Improvement:

- Actively participating in reviewing and enhancing the curriculum, staying updated with educational trends and incorporating new ideas into teaching practices.
- Regularly try out new and innovative play techniques and activities, assess their effectiveness in engaging children and enhancing learning, and integrate successful methods into the regular play curriculum.

Professional Development:

- Participating in professional development opportunities, such as workshops, conferences, and training sessions, to improve understanding and skills related to play-based learning and curriculum development.
- Actively engaging in networking opportunities with other play professionals and educators to exchange ideas, best practices, and emerging trends in play-based education, fostering a collaborative approach to professional growth.

**About You**
- Diploma Primary Teaching, Bachelor of Early Childhood, Diploma or Certificate IV Children’s Services, OSHC, Recreation.
- Experience in promoting inclusivity and diversity within educational settings and the ability to celebrate and respect cultural differences among children.
- Transparency: The desire to be sincere, open, and accountable, establishing trust and building stronger relationships with colleagues, clients and the community.
- Responsiveness: The ability to react in a timely manner, displaying a willingness to fulfil a need or provide the required information. Showing you understand and acknowledge the needs of others, which builds goodwill and cultivate trust.
