At the Department of Justice and Community Safety, we’re looking for people who want to make a difference. People who take pride in their work. People who get things done. People who are committed to making Victoria a safer place.
We embrace diversity and strive to have a workforce that reflects the community we serve. We’re all about recruiting the best people, regardless of gender, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, or cultural background. If you think you can do the job and would be a good fit for our department, we’d love to hear from you.
The department is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and recognises that children’s rights need to be respected, their views welcomed and valued, and their concerns taken seriously and acted upon.

We’re proud of the important work we do across Victoria. Want to be part of it?
- **Work in a team dedicated to helping people make positive changes to their lives**:
- **2 x Full time, ongoing positions based in Frankston**:
- **Earn $95,102 - $107,905 per year (plus super) with yearly increases**
Evidence suggests that people who re-integrate into the community following a period of imprisonment require transitional support in order to reduce their risk of reoffending.
**Why we love this work**
When a person's risk profile allows it, community-based rehabilitation is more effective at addressing offending behaviour than time in custody.
In your work, you will hear another person's story. You will come to understand their world view. And you will hold them accountable for their decisions. You will be part of giving offenders a second chance to make a more positive contribution to the community.
Your job won't always be easy, but with a strong work ethic and a belief in what you're doing, you will be able to take pride in your work and will know what it's like to make a genuine difference in someone else's life.
**Advanced Practitioners** manage a caseload of complex and high-risk individuals on court orders, many of whom have completed part of their sentence in custody. They draw on evidence-based frameworks to deliver dynamic case management practice with people who have complex needs and those who have committed serious offences.
You will help a caseload of complex and high risk clients meet their court order conditions and connect them to community programs and services. Some Advanced Practitioners also lead and mentor staff, guiding them to deliver quality evidence-based case management practice to clients.
Some of your day-to-day responsibilities include:
- conducting risk assessments
- preparing case plans
- providing interventions
- coordinating service providers and care teams
- address the underlying causes of offending
- leading and developing case management staff.
**What's in it for you?**
- A fair salary
- Generous leave entitlements
- Transparent performance framework
- Employee Wellbeing support
- Comprehensive training when you commence and throughout your career
- Secondments and promotions

**What we're looking for in Advanced Practitioners**
We look for:
- demonstrated experience in effective case management practices with complex clients
- excellent verbal communication skills and confidence in dealing with people exhibiting challenging behaviours
- a proven ability to model pro-social behaviours to a caseload of individuals
- a passion for supporting clients in the justice system while contributing to community safety; and
- an ability to lead and mentor staff to achieve their best.
CCS Frankston are currently recruiting two full time, ongoing positions with the potential for further fixed term and part time opportunities.
**How to apply**
**_ Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply._**
**_ CHILD SAFE STATEMENT OF COMMITMENT:_**
- The Department of Justice and Community Safety is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. We seek to prevent harm of any kind impacting children and young people and have zero tolerance for racism, child abuse and inequality. Children and young people's rights, relationships, identity, and culture must be recognised and respected, their voices heard, and their concerns acted upon. We aim to foster a culturally safe, child safe and child friendly environment for all children and young people we have contact with, deliver services to, or are impacted by our work._
