**Early Childhood Trainee**

- Georges River Council have opportunities for Early Childhood Trainees at their Early Learning Centres in Penshurst and Carss Park. In these roles you will be joining friendly and passionate Early Learning teams, who enjoy providing a stimulating and secure learning environment for all children attending the Centre.

At Council we aim to provide you with invaluable experience, where you will also be making a difference to the care and education of our young community members and their families.

**_ Start your childcare career in a positive and rewarding environment, with a friendly team._** These roles are temporary, fulltime roles. These roles sit within our Community and Early Learning Services team, which provide high quality early childhood education and care for children aged six weeks to six years.

**The FutureGEN Program**
- Georges River Council's FutureGEN Trainee Certificate 111 Program provides the opportunity to develop professional skills, undertake tailored learning and development activities, and receive mentoring from senior staff.

As part of our entry level talent program you will have an opportunity to engage in networking events which are focused on personal and professional development with other FutureGEN program members across Council.

**Opportunity Details**
- Temporary, Full-Time Roles
- Salary rates will be paid in accordance with the trainee wages in the Local Government State Award.
- 1 day per week at Registered Training Organisation for studies (this may be variable depending on the course and study structure)
- Apprentices and Trainees will attend 2 x half day FutureGEN networking events per year, focused on personal and professional development.

**Eligibility**
- Willingness and ability to be enrolled in an appropriate course of study.
- Demonstrated understanding and acceptance of children’s’ varying cultural/language backgrounds and those with special needs.
- Demonstrated willingness to participate in all child related activities displaying responsiveness to each child’s feelings, needs and interests.
- Proven effective communication and interactive skills with children and adults.
- Proven ability to work as an effective team member.
