About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a great opportunity for a Safety, Test & Trials Lead to join our Red Ochre program based at Melbourne, reporting to the Project Engineering Manager.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
You will be responsible for working in a team environment and conducts all safety, test and trials related activities in accordance with relevant project procedures and work instructions. The Safety, Test & Trials Lead may be asked to provide leadership through provision of mentoring to junior team members. They are also responsible for delivery of an integrated system to the system test team.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Develop and execute test and trial plans & procedures
- Develop safety cases for testing & trailing
- Undertake physical and functional installation of qualified components into the system and the incremental verification of physical and functional interfaces to demonstrate requirements are met
- Develop safety related documentation in accordance with appropriate standards
- Work effectively as part of the test and safety team and provide guidance and mentoring to team members, as required
- Provide support to other teams or individuals with regards to activities performed by the test and safety team
- Provide input and offer recommendations for improvement of company processes and standard procedure
- Accountability for delivery of an integrated system fit for purpose for qualification test
- Responsible for complying with requirements of BAE Systems Australia Quality Systems as they relate to own areas of activity
- Work within agreed project technical, cost and schedule constraints

About YOU
- Demonstrated experience in the test and evaluation of complex products
- Exposure to working with heavy vehicles
- Prior experience in functional safety
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain a NV1 clearance
