In this role, you will collaborate with instrumental tutors and classroom teachers to provide a high-quality and engaging Band Program. This will include leading public performances and special events throughout the year.

**Responsibilities may Include**:

- Proactively work to develop the profile of the band program and increase the numbers of quality bands students at the College;
- Provide leadership in recruiting, developing, and coordinating Band instrumentalists across all year levels, ensuring a comprehensive and inclusive program for beginners upwards;
- Coordinate, direct, conduct, and oversee ensembles, maintaining the highest performance standards and working in collaboration with other tutors, conductors, and teaching staff;
- Teaching an allocated list of private instrumental students;
- Collaborate with the Director of Performing Arts to create an annual plan that is outcomes-based, detailing performance metrics and success measures for the Band Ensembles program;
- Deliver outstanding service by promptly and courteously responding to inquiries and requests from parents and caregivers;
- Oversee the coordination of before and after school, as well as lunchtime rehearsal programs;
- Conduct annual auditions and provide relevant updated audition materials to ensure appropriate placement of students with tutors and within ensembles;
- In conjunction with the Director of Performing Arts, develop and manage the Year 5 band immersion program;
- Attend school music performances and other school events, and assist with the planning of key music events such as workshops, recitals and music camps;
- Assist in preparing the budget for Band-related activities;
- Maintain an accurate inventory of instruments and equipment within the area, including instruments that are hired to students; and ensure that there are sufficient instruments to meet the needs of curriculum, cocurricular and extra-curricular areas in addition to ensuring school instruments are kept in an appropriate condition;
- Ensure that maintenance of instruments is up to date and organise repairs as needed.

**Key Selection Criteria**
- A dynamic understanding of Brass instruments (highly preferred) with proficiency in performance, teaching, and ensemble direction.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, mentor, and guide students, staff, and fellow musicians in the pursuit of musical excellence.
- Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating music programs, with a focus on continuous improvement and growth.
- Desire to engage in a dynamic learning environment acting as an advocate for the music program.
- Enthusiasm for engaging students in meaningful learning experiences.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- A meticulous approach to music administration, including resource management, scheduling, and ensemble coordination.
- Proven ability to maintain high standards of performance in student ensembles and an understanding of the intricacies of performance preparation and execution.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues, providing timely feedback and maintaining open lines of communication.
- Strong attention to detail & organisational skills.

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Current Queensland College of Teacher Registration (preferred but not essential)
- Degree/Diploma qualifications relevant to the position
