Our client is currently seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to join their team for a 6-12month contract.
The Project Superintendent is responsible for management of Construction Contractor activities in accordance with Policies, Standards and Major Works Contracts. The role includes the assurance, supervision, co-ordination and collaboration with on-site Construction Contractors and coordination with Stakeholders. Facilitating safe and efficient contractors’ delivery to scope and project planning ensuring construction compliance with designs, specifications, and industry best practice. The role encompasses the capital programs, construction contractor performance monitoring and reporting, safety, scope management, variation and quality control, testing, inspection and acceptance of works and completed facilities by construction contractors.
**Qualifications & Experience**
- Demonstrated project management and construction management experience.
- Trade Qualifications in Civil, Building or Construction discipline or extensive relevant experience.
- Or Tertiary Qualifications in Civil, Building, Construction, or related engineering discipline with a Builders Licence under the provisions of the Builders registration Act.
- Qualifications in Contract Administration and or Project Management.
**Skills**
- Client-side constructions management, Project Supervision, Contract Management and Administration skills.
- Experience in Civil Infrastructure, Services, Construction, or heavy maintenance.
- Demonstrated coordination and supervisory skills with experience in managing in an industrial environment including knowledge of Equal Opportunity principles.
- Experience in formulating construction scopes of works, specifications and scheduling.
- Experience in formulating, implementing and managing construction methods and budget estimates.
- Good written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of statutory legislation and regulations relating to construction management and maintenance.
- Sound knowledge of relevant Act/ Regulations and demonstrated ability to implement and ensure a safe work environment.
- Experience in formulating, implementing, managing and accessing contractor construction methods and budget estimates.
- Working Knowledge of high-risk construction activities, their associated Codes of Practice, Guidance Notes and Australian Standards.
- Well-developed knowledge WHS Act/ Regulations and demonstrated ability to implement and ensure a safe work environment.
**Desirable**
- Construction management experience delivering large brownfields capital projects exceeding $10M AUD.
- Construction experience with bulk handling systems, heavy civil works and or marine construction.
- Experience in Engineering Surveying.
- Knowledge of Quality Management and Continuous Improvement Principles.
