Maintenance Fitter

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Fitter is responsible for supporting the company's production plans by ensuring that the manufacturing plant and equipment is safe to operate and is fully functional when required.

This day-shift permanent position will require the successful applicant to work 07:00 - 15:00 Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime available on weekends.

**Description**

This role is responsible for maintaining plant & equipment as per the preventative maintenance schedule to minimise breakdowns and adhere to HACCP requirements. Overall, the key areas of responsibility include (but not limited to):

- Perform modifications and repairs to equipment including fitting, welding, machining and fabrication to achieve a right-first-time outcome.
- Complete maintenance documentation accurately, neatly and efficiently
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the preventative maintenance program.
- Participate in root cause analysis investigations to identify contributors and propose effective solutions.
- Identify and notify imminent breakdowns to the Manufacturing Manager
- Induct service providers and contractors to site
- Contribute to the site's plant and process improvement programs
- Ensure company policies and procedures are observed
- Maintain a safe, neat & tidy work area by following safety & housekeeping procedures.
- Participate in safety risk assessments and Safe Work Method Statements for high-risk tasks where required.

**Profile**

To be considered for this role you will have
- Trades Qualification
- Background in either fitting, welding, machining, or fabricating
- High degree of mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and refrigeration
- Root cause analysis and structured problem-solving abilities
- Experience within a manufacturing environment
- Time management and prioritising skills
