The **Australian Institute of Music (AIM)** is seeking a creative Academic Lecturer to join our Learning and Teaching team on a permanent part-time basis. This role will be based at our state-of-the-art campus at The Rocks.

**About You**

To be successful in this role, you will be a passionate musician and academic with a practical and research specialisation in contemporary popular music and/or jazz performance. You will be detail-oriented, community-oriented, and agile in your thinking about music and the arts.

**About the Role**

The Academic Lecturer role is offered in a permanent part-time capacity for 22.8 hours (3 days) per week, however there is potential to increase to 30.4 hours per week. Reporting to the Associate Head of Learning and Teaching, you will demonstrate commitment to academic integrity, deliver a high quality of learning and teaching, focus on student satisfaction and reduced attrition, and support the achievement of student learning outcomes. You will be responsible for a range of teaching and supervision formats based on the needs of the program.

**Your Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and deliver classes and supervisions across the course offerings of the Institute
- Prepare, review and update course materials
- Draft, review and update assessment materials
- Assess and determine student results with reference to the course criteria
- Provide individual guidance and support for students
- Monitor student performance, attendance and participation
- Retain industry knowledge and currency in the field

**Experience and Qualifications**
- Hands-on experience within the professional and academic music worlds
- Exceptional communication skills
- Thorough understanding of the challenges and needs facing students
- Strong individual and team-based collaboration in the achievement of goals
- Demonstrable project management experience (i.e. doctoral research project)
- AQF Level 10 status (Doctoral degree) is required*
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance (or willingness to apply)
- _Academic teaching staff must be qualified to at least one level of qualification (AQF level or equivalent) higher than the course of study being taught, or have approved equivalent relevant academic or professional or practice-based experience and expertise_
