**The Role**

We’re looking for solution engineers with deep technical knowledge and ability to design high performing, scalable, and reliable services. You will be known for your leadership skills to be able to influence business, architecture and engineering teams to deliver world-class scalable platforms.

The ideal person would have 10+ years of software development and solution design experience. You will be well versed with modern design and engineering practices including the latest trends in the industry. An experience delivering in an agile environment coupled with your ability to quickly grasp new concepts would set you apart from your peers.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Define solution designs to deliver business initiatives, in line with the NAB technology strategy.
- Participate in solution governance activities (e.g.: design reviews, governance forums etc)
- Strong stakeholder syndication skills
- Identify system architecture improvement opportunities.
- Resolve technical barriers and roadblocks impacting delivery teams.
- Able to drive projects from inception (study, feasibility & estimation) through to implementation (execution and handover)
- Work with various platform, delivery, vendor and project teams to co-ordinate delivery of the business vision in alignment to the architecture
- Establish new design patterns.
- Support team members through mentoring, providing feedback, and highlighting growth opportunities.

***What you will bring**
- Solution design experience including micro services and event driven architectures.
- Solid knowledge of cloud technologies and hybrid platforms.
- Broad data integration knowledge including legacy platform integration.
- Financial Services domain knowledge - in particular lending product origination.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
- Hands-on programming and debugging skills on Java 8, Springboot, JavaScript, J2EE design patterns
- Hands-on programming and debugging skills on Amazon ECS, Lambda, AWS API Gateway and other AWS services or Azure equivalent
- Service Integration Concepts (especially with RESTFUL services/ SOAP based web services)
- Design and develop solutions for Non-Functional Requirements (Performance analysis & tuning, Benchmarking/load testing, Security)
- Good knowledge of JSON, XPath
- Ability to assess and implement new technologies and processes.
- An open mindset and proven ability to innovate and influence.
- Experience using productivity and collaboration tools such as Rally, Gliffy and Confluence in a software delivery environment.
- Postgrad qualifications and self-learning courses and certifications (Coursera, Udacity, AWS, etc.) highly regarded.
