**QHSE Advisor (Business Unit Lead)**

Riverside Marine is a Leader in Australian Marine Operations.
Since our beginnings in 1926, Riverside Marine has grown to be one of Australia’s leading marine companies. The company operates over 50 vessels across its Riverside Industrial Sands, Rivtow Marine, Riverside Ship Management, Magnetic Island Ferries and Riverside Oceanic brands.

This role will require a forward-thinking individual with strong Heavy Industrial and QHSE experience in a multi business of companies, preferably with marine experience.

The successful applicant in this role requires proactiveness, integrity, and problem-solving abilities.

**Qualifications and Training**
- Essential - Tertiary qualification in Safety Management or related discipline (Diploma acceptable with appropriate experience)
- Essential - Certified ISO Lead auditor qualifications (Safety Management Systems & Quality Management Systems)
- Essential - ICAM or other recognised Lead Investigator qualification and significant experience.
- Highly desired marine industry experience, including auditing of ISM management systems (Marine - International Safety Management Code)
- Preferred construction materials experience, in particular aggregates and sand extraction, processing and transport
- Preferred National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) and heavy vehicle transport compliance experience
- Preferred Cert IV TAE

**Essential Competencies and Characteristics**
- Minimum of 5 years experience in safety supporting high risk industrial operations, preferably in Tier 1 or Tier 2 organisations
- Essential demonstrated experience in implementing and improving QHSE Management systems, including technical QHSE document writing skills
- Essential heavy industrial QHSE business acumen
- Essential working knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations and codes of practice
- Essential demonstrated experience in leading incident investigations (including an understanding of the classification and reporting requirements for notifiable incidents)
- Essential high level competency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly MS Word and PowerPoint
- Preferred marine operations experience, including knowledge of marine legislation and regulations
- Experience operating within document control systems
- Experience operating within digitised QHSE databases and document libraries
- Demonstrated success in building relationships and influencing staff at all levels
- Preferred behavioral safety experience
- Preferred experience supporting QHSE functions, either within or contracted to top tier resource companies
- Demonstrated site based QHSE support in multi business unit companies
- Skills and knowledge sufficient to contribute towards Group level QHSE Management system improvements
- Professional presentation

- A Strong relationship building experience

**Reports to**: General Manager (Riverside Industrial Sands)

- Group QHSE manager
- Business unit general managers
- Operational people leaders at all sites
- Vessel Crew Partnership Contractors
- General contractors
- Internal and external auditors
- Customer and port stakeholders
- Regulators as required

**Responsibilites**

**_ Responsibilities will include:_**
- Support the Riverside Industrial Sands business in matters of QHSE and safety culture improvement
- Support development and implementation of QHSE management system documentation
- Support the business in sustaining ISO 45001, 9001 and 14001 certification across all business units
- Provide technical QHSE support
- Conduct internal ISO and ISM audits
- Develop and deliver QHSE training/coaching sessions
- Support General Manager and Operational people leaders in the effective implementation of the QHSE Management System
- Contribute to the development of group-wide safety initiatives and programs
