Doris Blackburn Preschool has been providing quality, affordable education for 3- and 4-year-old children in the local area for nearly 80 years. We are a community of learners that exists in the interests of children’s well-being and learning. We strongly believe that aim is to develop every child’s potential in a supportive and welcoming learning environment. Our programs follow the National & Victorian Early Years Learning Frameworks and we have been assessed each time by the Department of Education & Training as exceeding. Our educational programs are play-based and open-ended, and children to learn because they are interested in what they are doing. We extend children’s thinking through modelling, problem-solving and purposeful activities which help them to understand a new concept, develop an idea they have had or try a new skill. The program encourages creative thinking, independence, decision making and risk taking and provides children with opportunities to experiment, explore, discover and create. 18.25 hours per week. Contact
- 14 hrs., Non-contact
- 3.75 hrs. Staff meetings 0.5 hrs. Session times are 8.30am-4.00pm.

**Description**
- Doris Blackburn Preschool is seeking an enthusiastic and confident Diploma qualified educator to work until the end of 2023. The role will commence on Monday 10th July 2023
- **and conclude on Wednesday 13th September, 2023.** The successful applicant will be working in an experienced and passionate team in the 3YO Yellow Group.
- To be familiar with the National Quality Standard (NQS) and associated learning frameworks.
- Appropriate understanding and knowledge of early childhood development.
- The ability to provide a developmentally appropriate educational program in partnership with the early childhood teacher and parents.
- Ability to plan, reflect, work and manage time effectively with mínimal supervision.
- Be a positive role model to children.
- Ability to ensure confidentiality of information
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral) and confidence to engage with a diverse range of people
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate a positive work culture and be solution focused in thinking and practice
- Confidence using technology
- Knowledge of Child Safety Standards, Reportable Conduct Scheme, Child Protection and Mandatory Reporting obligations.
- Understanding and knowledge of early childhood development relevant to level of qualification, as approved by the Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA), and experience
- Understanding and working knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations
- Understanding and working knowledge of the National Quality Standards and Victorian Early Years Learning Framework
- Ability to work in a co-operative, flexible and professional manner with staff, children, families and employer
- Ability to plan, reflect, work and manage time effectively with mínimal supervision
- Ability to ensure confidentiality of information
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral) and confidence to engage with a diverse range of people
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate a positive work culture and be solution focused in thinking and practice
- Confidence using technology
- Experience working in early childhood education is preferable (graduates also welcome to apply).

Essential requirements

Hold an approved Diploma level qualification, or be actively working towards a qualification in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and the Education and Care Services National Regulations.**Requirements**:
