Based at our client’s modern Hatchery in Goulburn under the direction of the Incubationist and Hatchery Manager, the Trainee Incubationist will have a primary focus on egg room and incubation operations to produce the highest quality parent and grandparent stock to meet Domestic and Export orders.

The position holder will learn and implement agreed processes and best practice in incubation to ensure animal welfare, work health and safety, hygiene and biosecurity standards are upheld.

As a trainee position this role will engage in a comprehensive training schedule to become competent in:

- Planning of sets, including flock hatch forecasting and monitoring
- Carrying out set and incubation planning adjustments to ensure customer orders are met.
- Monitoring and reporting on facility equipment.
- Being part of the 24/7 standby alarm duty rolling roster
- Understanding, collating, and recording of incubation/set data, including hatch window, temperatures, CO2, 10 - Day candling, hatch breakout and egg hygiene
- Identifying any problems in preparation, set, incubation and hatch outcomes with the ability to amend to ensure continual improvement in production.
- Other duties as requested by the Supervisor.

On completion of the Incubation development program, where demonstrated competence is shown, the position holder will be instrumental in providing ongoing support, back up and relief as part of the Incubation Team.
