**_ Reporting to the Director of Co-Curricular Music, the Cello Tutor will be responsible for providing a high standard of teaching. The Cello Tutor will be responsible for to Tutor Year 3 Cello each Monday and Thursday afternoon, with the potential opportunity to direct one of the Strings ensembles._**

**Responsibilities will include but not be limited to**:

- Provide individual instrumental teaching in areas of expertise with reasonable skill, care and diligence
- Perform teaching duties as required by the Director of Co-curricular Music
- Organise lesson schedules that fit within the school timetable and Music Department guidelines
- Assess the music development of students, compile and maintain records of development, and provide reports to parents
- Prepare students for external examinations (AMEB, Trinity College London), and internal examinations where appropriate
- Demonstrated passion and commitment for the teaching and pastoral care of students in the Music program
- Prepare for music recitals and concerts, in association with other instrumental staff and the Director of Co-curricular Music
- Monitor attendance and report on student progress Liaise with parents as required
- Contribute actively towards the attainment of all aspects of the Mission Statements of Somerville House and the Presbyterian and Methodist Schools Association
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Demonstrated skills and appropriate qualifications to fulfill the role
- Demonstrated high level of communication and interpersonal skills

**_ It is a mandatory requirement for this position that you hold a Working with Children Paid Blue Card or current Queensland College of Teachers Registration._**
