Melbourne City Centre, Australia Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning Full time

The Policy Officer works as a part of a multidisciplinary team to develop, design and reform strategic policy and enabling regulation for energy efficiency and demand side management more broadly. This includes working on one of Victoria's key emissions reduction programs - Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU), policy on flexible demand (which involves rewarding energy users to voluntarily adjust their electricity use to support the energy system), policies to support large energy users, and other opportunities for the demand side to support renewables, electrification and the energy transition.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification/s, such as engineering, energy, science, energy economics, social science, law or public policy.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency (as it relates to buildings, appliances, equipment or the residential, commercial or industrial sectors), energy demand side management and/or the energy sector is desirable but not essential

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2024. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
