**Primary Responsibilities**

In the role of Civil Designer, we'll count on you to:

- Give your full commitment to HDR’s Values
- Develop the alignment and civil design on highways and civil projects
- Provide design input into civil engineering projects undertaken by HDR
- Prepare detailed designs for roads, drainage and other civil infrastructure within estimated timeline and budget;
- Participate in design development and contract documents in conjunction with appropriate technical professionals and other disciplines;
- Undertake Civil design tasks to ensure a high level of accuracy and efficiency according to HDR’s standards of operation;
- Ensure project efficiency by following timelines as directed by Project Managers;
- Keep abreast of engineering practices, Australian standards and liaising with Statutory authorities as required;
- Having a clear understanding and compliance with ISO9001
- Participate in the development and implementation of Technology strategies across HDR Brisbane’s Engineering Practice
- Participate in the integration of Design/CAD systems into Civil Information Modelling that are aligned with HDR’s Global Processes with consideration of local market expectations, across the civil discipline
- Perform other duties as needed.

**Qualifications**

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Relevant qualifications in drafting and/or design
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in planning, design and documentation of highways and civil infrastructure
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, standards and processes
- Detailed knowledge of Microsoft and/or Autocad; and Bentleys OpenRoads Designer
- Competent in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software
- Ability to work effectively within a culturally diverse and multi-disciplinary environment. Ability to work as part of a team, including resources from other countries
- Sound verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with an ability to work under pressure
- Integrity, passion and enthusiasm
- Understanding of quality management systems and the importance of those in an engineering consultancy
