**About The Role**

Internal Audit supports the provision of value adding and insightful internal audit services that help improve the Origin’s health, safety, environment, and operational controls associated with activity across for example Corporate Functions, Energy Markets and Integrated Gas.

Reporting to the Head of Audit, the role of the Internal Audit Lead is managing the delivery of internal audits per the annual Internal Audit Plan. This includes planning, fieldwork and reporting throughout the internal audit process. The role will also involve managing Internal Audit co-source providers on an engagement-by-engagement basis.

**Key Responsibilities will Include**:

- Develop internal audit scope and approach, set clear and appropriate expectations, and obtain business commitment to deliver internal audit projects
- Manage fieldwork to accurately identify control gaps and inefficiencies, and appropriately describe the risk, root cause and consequence of these
- Support an effective and efficient data analytics approach. This may involve working closely with co-source providers to analyse data and report insights and impacts on the control environment
- Evaluate the effectiveness of first
- and second-line risk management and assurance activities and determine the effect of these on the overall control environment and the internal audit test plan
- Prepare concise, insightful and value adding internal audit reports, and provide advice to our stakeholders in formulating appropriate corrective actions
- Work collaboratively across the Internal Audit team to identify and contribute to effective and efficient internal audit operations and deliverables
- Engage with senior management and internal and external peers to build networks

**Is this You?**

To be considered for this role you will show a collaborative approach to internal audit and partner effectively with the business and each function. You will have a continuous improvement mindset and a practical approach to problem solving.You will also be able to demonstrate:

- Circa 10 years’ experience in health safety and environment assurance or consulting roles either in commerce, large multi-location organisations or professional services
- Relevant Professional Certification e.g., Engineering, Chartered Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, etc.
- Experience in managing teams of multi-disciplinary auditors working on concurrent projects
- Confidence to collaborate and mange resources such as senior stakeholders, guest auditors, co-source service provider teams
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, including experience drafting assurance reports that simplify technical content
- Knowledge and experience relating to the any of the following areas:

- Operational internal auditing
- Risk management
- Process improvement/transformation and/or LEAN
- Major projects
