The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make it easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses to interact with government. We're working to connect and digitise our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.
The Shared Service Provider
The Shared Service Provider (SSP) group delivers accommodation management, carpool and library services to Victorian Government client departments and agencies.
SSP strives to be a shared service provider of choice, achieving value for the Victorian Public Sector (VPS) by delivering strategic, client focused services. The team is committed to offering their shared services expertise and public sector knowledge to deliver strategic, efficient, relevant and effective shared services that give SSP clients confidence to focus on their core business.
About the role
This is VPS4 6-month Fixed Term Contract.
Key Accountabilities
- Work to support the delivery of SSP's key strategic planning, performance and operational reports in line with SSP's strategic performance reporting framework.
- Collate information and data from key stakeholders to prepare relevant performance and operational reports.
- Analyse and interrogate data and information to understand trends and patterns to produce a variety of reports to facilitate strategic decision making.
- Support the identification of performance reporting gaps and create opportunities for enhancing the quality of reporting.
- Participate in the delivery of key reporting presentations to senior managers and executives.
- Formulate advice and responses to requests from stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and work constructively to resolve issues or escalate where required.
- Assist in the delivery of SSP's reporting projects and initiatives as required to deliver strategic and operational business priorities.
- Other duties as directed.
About you
To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:

- Proven data analytics skills to identify trends and patterns in a broad portfolio environment.
- Proficient in building reports and dashboards that facilitate delivery of strategic reporting, data analysis and timely advice.
- Proven problem-solving skills, including the ability to resolve challenging issues in a complex environment.
- Interpersonal skills for building effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and working collaboratively in a team environment.
- Good planning, communication and presentation skills with the ability to assist in the delivery of complex tasks in a tailored manner to multiple audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and to constructively support the delivery of team and organisation-wide outputs.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced change environment, including demonstration of a team oriented, flexible, and pro-active approach to customer service.
Experience/Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
- Proficient in using software tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Teams
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Power Pivot.
