St Catherine's Catholic College draws its students from the Singleton local Government Area. Singleton is approximately 73 kilometres from Newcastle, close to attractions such as historical villages of Morpeth and Wollombi and a 30minute drive from the beautiful vineyard area of the Hunter Valley. The College is a co-educational school offering a comprehensive curriculum for students from Kindergarten to Year 12. The School Finance Officer is accountable for providing administration and operational support to the Principal and Senior Finance Officer to administer elements of the school’s finances with a particular emphasis on, but not limited to, purchase orders, invoicing, quotations, deliveries, activities payments, and fee payments. Finance Officers must demonstrate attention to detail, excellent time management with the ability to work under pressure and multitask as well as the capacity to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

Finance Officers will be required to engage in other general financial tasks as designated by the Principal or delegate and other general administrative duties as required and directed by the Principal or delegate. Finance Officers within the Catholic Schools Office, Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle may be classified as either a level 5 or 6. Indicative duties for each of these levels can be found under the leadership framework - Administrative Support.

**Desired Skills and Experience**:
**EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA**
- Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic Education and to actively supporting the Catholic ethos and culture of the school
- Ability to manage all purchasing in the school ensuring all School and Diocese processes are followed correctly
- Ability to manage billing and accounts receivable, purchasing, asset, inventory and accounts payable.
- Excellent written communication skills and strong verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Capacity to provide support to college staff and parents with regards to school payment collection system processes and queries
- Ability to assist with the preparation of internal Finance reports for members of the leadership team
- Demonstrated ability in accurately and proficiently performing a wide range of finance tasks
- Intermediate experience and ability to work with various databases, Microsoft office programs and excel
- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and be responsible and accountable for own work with the capacity and willingness to work in a team environment
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a finance role
- Willingness to Comply or Compliance with the CSO Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead Policy. Category A - Accreditation to Work
- TechnologyOne experience would be highly advantageous, but experience using any enterprise level financial software is desirable
- Knowledge / experience in Compass (Desirable)
- First Aid Certificate (Desirable)

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Certificate III in Finance or equivalent qualification
- Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number
- Completion of Anaphylaxis training

**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**

Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2020.
