**Calling all Surveyors**

We are currently seeking an experienced Surveyor with management experience or management capabilities to be a leader in our client’s Survey Section. This is an exciting opportunity to join a local government organisation that values the wellbeing, growth and retention of its employees. This is a

**What you can expect as your new role**:

- Use your leadership skills to manage your new team. This includes establishing and monitoring work outcomes, and compliance responsibilities.
- Use your experience and innovation to improve productivity in Surveying and the full engineering cycle. You will be reviewing and developing work practices, procedures, methodologies, equipment, and software.
- You will be required to provide analysis, interpretation, and advice on surveying matters to teams within other Sections, Branches, and Departments.
- Your contribution will be valued in relation to the management of branch budgets, performance appraisals and management of staff.
- You will provide specialised surveying services to a wide range of clients, including undertaking complex Engineering Surveys for the design of engineering works.
- Undertake control and monitoring surveys on Dams and Structures using GPS and Total Station Equipment.
- Undertake control and feature surveys for the preparation of base maps, plans, GIS databases and rectified orthophotos.
- Use your interpersonal and engagement skills to liaise with external customers, staff, departments and government authorities on surveying matters, and answer surveying enquiries from the public and engineering sector.
- Associate Diploma in Surveying or equivalent with extensive experience in the type of engineering survey work undertaken in urban local government, or
- Bachelor of Spatial Science (Surveying) from a recognised University with extensive relevant experience or a combination of extensive experience, expertise, and competence, sufficient to perform all duties of the position at this level.
- Ability to develop 12d Model Software Survey Standards and coordinate their use for survey and design throughout the region.
- Proficiency in the use of Land Surveying equipment, in particular the integrated use of this equipment with computing software.
- Comprehensive knowledge of equipment and procedures required to undertake engineering survey of complex local government projects.
- Excellent customer service skills (stakeholder engagement experience highly regarded)
- Demonstrated management skills.
