**About the team**

The UWA Medical School is the largest and longest established medical school in Western Australia. It delivers a 4-year post-graduate MD course to local, national and international students. The School also has substantial and successful research programs across the spectrum of health and medical research.

The Medical Education Unit is an educational support unit on all matters related to curriculum development including (learning, teaching, assessment and evaluation) within the Medical School.

**About the opportunity**

As an Associate Dean you will provide key leadership for the Medical School’s global footprint. You will provide direction and oversight on international medical education including student well-being and progression, international partnerships, and procedures around academic and student recruitment, scholarships, awards and alumni.

You will also main and develop collaborative relationships with global partners and contribute to the development and review of the School’s strategic, academic and operational priorities as a member of the School Board and Executive team.

In addition, you will work collaboratively with academic staff on research and innovative projects to grow international teaching and learning.

**About you**

To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:

- A post-graduate degree in health and medical sciences and substantial experience in global leadership.
- Experience in international medical education including a proven track record in demonstrating excellence in international student recruitment, support, teaching and learning.
- Experience with the design and implementation of global partnerships and innovative projects, including developing memoranda of understandings, maintaining partnership agreements and accreditation.
- Experience with medical education research, including the development of innovative projects and funding proposals, publications and communication of outcomes.
- Excellent, effective organisational, communication and negotiation skills with multiple diverse stakeholders
- Significant personal contribution and commitment to high quality global leadership and teaching at all levels.

This role will involve substantial Australian and international travel.
