Technical Solution Designer

Salary: $105,758 - $122,254 (plus 15.4% super)
- Location: Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Geelong, Melbourne or Sydney

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is looking to fill a Technical Solution Designer role for Informatica within our Data Acquisition Systems section. This role will drive and assist teams in the development and maintenance of Informatica systems to increase quality outcomes for software related projects.

This is an ongoing, permanent role (either full-time or part-time). The position is located in either Belconnen (ACT), Sydney (CBD), Docklands (Melbourne), Brisbane (CBD), Adelaide (CBD) or Geelong (CBD), although flexible working arrangements (including a hybrid model of working from home and the office) apply.

**About the role**

As a Technical Solution Designer you will be required to:

- work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary and geographically dispersed team to carry out tasks in support of the ABS’ organizational objectives
- manage and continuously improve team practices to ensure team effectiveness and alignment with division best practice (e.g. Agile, DevOps)
- ensure service, incident and problem management processes and practices are followed in line with agreed ITSM standards
- manage, mentor and coach team members in their work performance and technical skills
- foster collaborative working relationships across organisation and with key external partners.
- communications between systems used for the acquisition of data
- systems used for dissemination of information
- internal Workflow Management systems

**What we are looking for (selection criteria)**

To be suitable you should have most or all of the following skills, qualities and experience:

- demonstrated track record in designing and delivering solutions in Informatica - Managed File Transfer, PowerCenter, Data Exchange, Data Transformation using Informatica Developer
- demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and produce high quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment
- contemporary experience in CI/CD, Agile and DevOps methods and tools
- ability to maintain appropriate documentation of technical solution designs, implementation & best practices
- ability to manage a complex set of stakeholders and nurture positive working relationships
- well-developed communication and negotiation skills
- staff management and technical coaching/mentoring skills
