**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
South Gippsland Shire currently have 2 opportunities available within our Open Space & Environment team as a Roadside Weeds & Natural Reserves Officer, to assist with maintaining, protecting and enhancing the municipality’s natural environment for a more stable future.
- Full Time Fixed Term to December 2023
- $63,769 per annum + superannuation

AND
- 1 day per week (0.220 EFT) Ongoing
- $32.27 per hour

Key responsibilities are to assist with the implementation of Council’s Roadside Weed and Pest Animal Management Plan through on ground works; undertake tree management and vegetation maintenance works; implement weed control activities and construct and maintain infrastructure in Council Bush Reserves and Rail Trails, and to assist with works associated with the implementation of Fire Management Plans for Councils Bush Reserves.

**ABOUT YOU**:
To be successful, you will have:

- Sound knowledge and experience in natural resource management and the maintenance of public open spaces
- Current experience in maintenance of open space and bush reserves
- A good understanding of weed identification and management and have practical experience in working with various horticultural/construction equipment.
- You will also hold an Agricultural Chemical Users Permit (ACUP), Traffic Management Certificate and Construction Industry Red/White Card.
- A current driver’s license is essential.
