The Environmental Advisor is a newly designed role with Barwon Water that will focus on our obligations and commitments to Acts, Regulations and best practice. It is a key role is meeting our goals as set out in our Strategy 2030 to provide the region with safe and secure water services that are environmentally responsible.

Working across the business, the Environmental Advisor will link with key stakeholders to spearhead programs that promote our caring for Country ethos. You will manage the Environmental and Cultural Heritage planning for small construction and operational/maintenance projects, collaborate with operational staff to develop and implement environmental controls and improvement, and support the Zero Waste Team.

No two days will be the same as you challenge the status quo by putting sustainability at the forefront of how and why we operate. You will lead conversations and initiatives under Barwon Water’s environmental expectations and work closely with external stakeholders.

**About you**

As the Environmental Advisor you are passionate and committed to sustainability, cultural and environmental issues. You are dynamic, thoughtful and creative, someone who enjoys developing strong relationships to further organisational goals. You understand the need to highlight change and adapt quickly.

A natural and confident communicator, you will support and participate in working groups and an emerging leader, be an influencer of others. You will value honesty and share key tenets of diversity and inclusion to support a safe working space.

Your tertiary qualifications in environmental management / Science or past related working experiences will be tested, as you play a vital role in underpinning Barwon Water’s commitment to Sustainability and Healthy Country.
