**About the role**:
The APS6 Work Health & Safety Advisor is responsible for providing support to workers and managers throughout the employee lifecycle. You will support the Agency to provide a safe workplace for workers, to build their capability and foster a positive and inclusive culture.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

- Provide technical WHS advice to support the business functions of the WHSW Team, including advising managers on technical and best practice WHS processes in a public service context.
- Take a leading role in implementing the WHS Management System for the Agency, including developing and implementing policies, procedures and the development of learning and development materials.
- Manage and provide advice on incident responses, including coordinating incident investigations.
- Undertake and review hazard and risk assessments and coordinating the development and maintenance of the Agency’s WHS risk register and hazard inspection schedule.

**MANDATORY**
- Experience working in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations
- Experience in coordinating and assisting in the management of complex cases
- The ability to provide WHS advice and assistance, including providing information relating to how persons can comply with legislation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with stakeholders at multiple levels, utilising appropriate oral and written format.
- Current Police Check, o ability to obtain one

**Desirable skills to have for the role**:

- A certificate level qualification in work health and safety, or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in corporate level WHS operations.

- Experience in building relationships both with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work within and across teams, the ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to prioritise and allocate tasks in an efficient manner while also maintaining high work standards and accuracy.
