**THE POSITION**

Our Early Years Precinct is seeking a creative, dedicated Lead Educator who has a genuine passion for child-centered learning and strong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework to join our team.

All staff need to be supportive of the values, Christian ethos and Ethical Statement of this Uniting Church Day schools from EY-12.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Assisting with the implementation of the Early Childhood Program
- Engaging and working alongside children and families to support learning outcomes.
- Working with individuals and groups of children to support and document their learning.
- Awareness of planning for children’s learning experiences through the EYLF.
- Ability to document learning observations and critical reflections.
- Help maintain the environment, resources and equipment.
- Understanding and working according to the Early Learning Centre Policies.
- Complete light cleaning duties as required.
- Assist with administration duties as required.
- Ensuring the health and safety of all children in their care.
- Awareness of the regulations associated with the early education and care industry.
- Engage in professional discussions about the learning program and continuous improvement.
- Actively contribute to a safety citizenship culture upholding health and safety policies, procedures, hazard reporting and safe work practices.

**SKILLS AND ABILITIES**

- Good communication and inter-personal skills
- Ability to relate well to young children.
- IT skills.
- Able to use initiative.
- Energetic and enthusiastic.
- Demonstrate workplace health and safety practices.

**EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE**
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care
- A good understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS).

**CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS**
- Working with Children Suitability Card is essential.
- A current first aid certificate and CPR.
- Current Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**
- Staff are resourced with a shared desk and computer.
- The Early Learning Centre has a shared lunchroom.
- This role can require a high level of physical activity and requires a physically capable individual.
- On occasion there will be a need to lift a child (approx weight 15kg)

**CONDITIONS AND SALARY**
- Wages are paid according to the Moreton Bay College Enterprise Agreement.
- Annual Leave - prorata 4 weeks
- Sick Leave entitlement as per Moreton Bay College Enterprise Agreement.
- Long Service Leave entitlement of 1.3 weeks for each year of service, which can be taken after 7 years.
- The College contributes superannuation on behalf of the employee as per the Moreton Bay College Enterprise Agreement.
