**About the team**

The Infrastructure and Place (IP) division is in the process of delivering an ambitious and once-in-a generation multi-billion program of public infrastructure works which will ease congestion, improve safety, create new places and connect communities for generations to come. We are dedicated and passionate team that is proud of the work we do and the supportive and flexible team culture we have built.

The role sits within the Development branch, which is responsible for the development of infrastructure and place projects that facilitate economic, social and environmental outcomes for the people of NSW.

**The opportunity**

Reporting to the Senior Capital Transaction Manager you will provide astute commercial acumen in the structuring / formulation and management of capital transaction agreements for TfNSW for its commercial property development projects.

**About you**

We are looking for a property transaction professional with the ability to drive performance in a complex, politically and commercially sensitive environment. As this role is both externally and internally facing, you will have experience in developing strong relationships to lead commercial thinking and provide enhanced capability.

So as to effectively deliver complex property transactions, a demonstrated record of achievement and relevant experience, evaluating risks and providing strategic and practical advice on strategies and delivery of capital transactions is required. You are a team player, strong collaborator, adaptable, pro-active and not afraid of getting involved to ensure high quality governance and ethical management of government transaction dealings.

**Key accountabilities include**:

- Undertaking property transactions that enhance value and deliver on transport, urban renewal and place making outcomes for the community.- Collaboration with Project leads and development managers to evaluate and determine the appropriate transaction strategy that delivers on key outcomes
- Ensure the transaction strategy is developed, communicated and well understood, approved, and adopted to ensure integrated and effective decision making and timely completion of transactions to meet program objectives.
- Collaborate and manage appointed external professional services consultants including transaction management, agency, valuations, legal, and asset management.
- Manage effective transaction risk management through effective due diligence and ongoing project management, ensuring informed decision-making accounting for factors including value, time, market, opportunity, risk, government policy, environmental and community impact to deliver allocated transactions.
- Monitor, report and manage budgets and reporting requirements for all allocated transactions.

You’ll have:

- Degree in Finance, Law, Property Development, Land Economics or related discipline- Strong financial modelling skills and analytical capability
- Demonstrated record of achievement and relevant experience in a similar role managing complex capital transactions and structured agreements
- Managed legal agreements and due diligence processes with internal and external advisors
- Well-grounded understanding of government processes.
