This role will help shape Council’s strategic response to major infrastructure projects. In this role you will lead the development of strategies, place-based plans and policy to guide the growth and development of the LGA. You will work collaboratively in a team and coordinate, deliver and advise on various aspects of city planning, urban economics, environmental planning, city design and infrastructure provision.

**Role Responsibilities**:
- Co-ordinate and manage major policy projects and facilitate the achievement of specified Delivery Program responses
- Facilitate effective delivery of outcomes in accordance with Operational Plan imperatives
- Project manage high level and complex planning projects individually and with the team
- Develop strategic documents and advice to support the delivery of infrastructure to align with expected growth
- Create written and graphic content to articulate propositions to a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Procure the services of external consultants or contractors when required
- Manage consultant and service budgets within funding allocations
- Undertake projects independently within defined budget and time frames.
- Research and analyse issues, advance innovative solutions and responses as appropriate.
- Collaborate with various Government agencies to guide transport and land use planning
- Ensure the implementation of Council’s resolutions, strategies, policies and decisions are in accordance with Council’s Strategic Plan
- Manage and participate in public meetings
- Undertake record keeping activities in accordance with Council’s Records Management business rules, procedures, policies and State Records Legislation
**Essential Requirements**
- Tertiary and/or post graduate qualifications in environmental planning, urban / town planning or a related discipline
- Previous experience in a local government environment is desirable
- Demonstrated experience with environmental planning or preparing high-quality spatial plans, structure plans and/or master plans that deliver a high level of urban design outcomes
- Proven experience in effectively leading project teams
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder and community engagement
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
- Current Class C driver licence
